I have always enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife and can be mostly found out and about. My photography, however, came along much later and I have been exploring what this has to offer since 2008. The most exciting aspect is that I am now able to combine both interests and this has opened up a whole other world to discover. Photography has provided an exciting world of colours, patterns and behaviours perhaps previously missed as I walked by and I have become much more aware of what’s around me and paying more attention to what is beyond the first glance.
Having worked for many years in the NHS, both in physical and mental health services and running the North Devon Walk and Talk project, I have learnt the importance of personal well-being and the important role nature and wildlife has in this process (Biophilia). Living in North Devon is such a special place with so much diversity that there is never a shortage of photographic opportunities, which I will always treasure.
I am a self-taught photographer and have my Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society. I am also a member of the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers as well as the Devon Artists Network. I have had a collection of work published in various national and local publications, some of which have been in the support of the many wildlife conservation projects which I am a supporter of.
My aim is to bring the natural world into personal and business environments through my photography and creativity that will help to enhance the positive feelings associated with ‘green spaces’.
